WOMEN'S GROUP

"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." John 14:2-3

Following the Easter celebration, we think of Mother's Day and Memorial Day. Both of these holidays remind us of our homes and families. John also reminds us of our heavenly home.

In April our group ate lunch at C.J. Muggs and then continued to Whitehaven, home of U.S. Grant, where we were treated to a privately conducted tour by a knowledgable Park Service ranger. We learned about Grant's family and were able to view a videao of the life and times of General Grant.

We have received a Thank You note from the Women of the ELCA (WELCA) for our $500 contribution to their scholarship fund. We have also received a recognition of our $50 gift to Church Women United, Unit 6 of St. Louis.

On May 12th women of the church are invited to meet at church to enjoy a picnic and then go on a tour of Powder Valley Nature Center. Powder Vally, in Kirkwood, is operated by the Missouri Conservation Commission. We will be able to tour the museum and take a walk if we choose. Please bring a sandwich and we will provide dessert and beverages. Meet at church at 11:30 a.m. on May 12. Please join us.

If a man's home is his castle, is a woman's home her delight? If we have a wonderful home here on earth, are we not about to have a better home in heaven?
