2007-2008 CONFIRMATION CLASS
Confirmation instruction at Christ Lutheran is 2-year program for 7th and 8th graders using Faith Inkubators curriculum. It employs the large-group instruction and small-group discussion format. Small groups are led by parent "guides", who help youth relate their instruction to everyday life. In addition, youth and their families are asked to have daily devotion times in the home. Youth also memorize the principal faith doctrines of the Lutheran church. Class meets during the 9:15 Education Hour on Sunday. If your child would like to be in the classes, please call the pastors at 314-962-6011.
The Confirmation Class of 7th and 8th graders participated in the 2007 CROP Walk in Forest Park on Sunday, October 14 as a service project. This interdenominational agency cooperates with church relief organizations such as Lutheran World Relief to bring aid to areas in distress. Chris Lindquist, Tim Donermeyer, Brad Kuziel, Ellie Zempel, Kate Drollinger, Aja Hornbeck, and adults Kathy Kuziel and Pastor Penny.
In the Fall of 2007, class members will participate in "Let's Connect," sponsored by Humanitri, to sensitize youth to social issues including the needs of the incarcerated. They will be attending an overnight workshop on this topic.
Most of the Confirmation students will be attending "Youth Quake" in January 2008, an overnight gathering of youth in Clayton, Missouri, sponsored by Youth Encounter.
